Most people think so and have already stopped using Fable 5. Honestly, that is the biggest waste.

I can say this with certainty: this is not just a simple period extension. It is a four-day window where an information gap will be created between those who know and those who don't.
Why "Now" is the Best Time
Claude's official account (@claudeai) announced late on the night of July 8th: "Access to Fable 5 will be extended for all paid plans until July 12th."
The conditions are exactly the same as before:
- Target: All paid plans including Pro / Max / Team
- Limit: Up to 50% of the weekly usage limit
- Excess: Pay-as-you-go for what you use
The official statement clearly says it can be used under the same conditions as before. The important thing here is that the announcement came late on July 8th, right at the July 7th deadline. Because of this, many people gave up and left, thinking it was already moving to pay-as-you-go.
Now that others have left, the servers are less crowded, and this is the period where only you can comfortably run heavy tasks.
Furthermore, on the same day, Cowork's mobile/web support and a doubling of Cowork usage limits (until August 5th) were announced. The environment for using Fable 5 is actually better now than when it was revived on July 1st. It is a pure waste to miss this gap without knowing.
What I Wasted in the First Two Days
I have a confession to make. Before the previous extension, I wasted the first two days. I was doing "Fable 5 intelligence testing"—throwing difficult questions at it just to see if it would give amazing answers.
That was the biggest waste. Even if you use up your precious quota confirming its intelligence, nothing remains once the deadline passes. The answers disappear. That is the way of someone who doesn't know how to handle it. You are just consuming it as a disposable question box. Nothing builds up in your hands.
On the third day, I switched to "What can I build with the remaining quota that will be effective forever?" and finally started moving seriously. If I had realized just one day earlier, I could have finished one more Skill. I still regret that.
The Moment I Said "You've Got to Be Kidding Me" Out Loud
Once I started moving seriously, the biggest win was the total overhaul of my "Skills." A Skill is a work procedure that you have the AI memorize. We had nearly 20 Skills related to posting, but they were cluttered with duplicates, contradictions, and outdated descriptions.
I threw them all at Fable 5 and said, "Read all of these, integrate them, and run a test post." This is a task that would take a human two full days. Fable 5 produced the first draft in about 40 minutes.
2 days → 40 minutes.
The moment it came back, the first thing I thought was, "You've got to be kidding me." It read nearly 20 files, identified duplicates, and consolidated them into 7.
Nearly 20 Skills → Integrated into 7.
For me, just comparing which Skill does what would kill half a day. Looking at the integration plan, I did a double-take. Moreover, the structure wasn't broken. I found myself saying out loud, "There's no point in me doing this anymore."
It wasn't just goosebumps; it was a feeling close to fear. Until now, I thought AI was just a "drafting assistant." That was the moment it changed to "This thing can actually design."
Because of this experience, I can say for sure: wasting your quota on light questions is a real waste.
5 Things to Do
What you should have Fable 5 do is rebuild the "business foundation" that will remain effective long after July 13th. I will share this based on the results I actually achieved. The following STEP 1 to STEP 5 is the order of execution.
■ STEP 1 | Skill Cleanup: Change Today's Work for Tomorrow
How: Have it read all your current Skills and prompts and tell it to "consolidate duplicates, supplement missing steps, and fix them into an easy-to-use format."
Effect: The moment you organize them, your daily work changes. It works for today's posts and tomorrow's posts.
Time required: About 40 minutes for the first draft.
This was the most effective thing I ran. The immediacy was on another level.
■ STEP 2 | Business Inventory: See What Should Be Automated at a Glance
How: Throw in all the tasks you do daily or weekly and have it categorize "what is the input, what is the process, what is the output, and where is human judgment needed."
Effect: You can see what should be automated. If you start with automation suddenly, you'll just mass-produce things that are off-target.
■ STEP 3 | Delegate to QA: Get a System That Doesn't Fail
How: Have Fable 5 check what you've created. Have it look for risks of misposting or missending, and fluctuations in output format.
Effect: Rather than complete automation, semi-automation that doesn't cause accidents is overwhelmingly stronger in practice.
■ STEP 4 | Retry Abandoned Automation: Complete What Was Impossible Before
How: Instead of saying "fix this script," hand over the whole thing saying, "I want to reduce this task. Think of the optimal way from scratch."
Effect: Things that were impossible with previous models are completed normally. The renewal of an overseas buzz analysis tool, which I had restarted three times before, passed from design to implementation and testing in a single session this time.
■ STEP 5 | Design Production in One Flow: Just Get the Blueprint This Time
How: Have it design a consistent flow from X posts → LP → Slides → LINE distribution.
Note: This wasn't as immediate as I thought. Because specifications for UTAGE or LINE are involved, it can't be completed with Fable 5 alone.
Decision: Just have it produce the design; implementation can wait.

What Separates Those Who Waste It from Those Who Use It Fully
I've written the steps here. But the essence lies further back.
What separates them is the "quality of the question."
People who ask Fable 5 "What can you do?" will waste it. People who understand "where in my business is eating up the most time" and throw it a command to "crush this part" will use it to the fullest.
In the end, it's not about AI performance. Everything is decided by whether you can verbalize your own challenges.
It's not the idea of asking a question, but the idea of handing over a task. Once you've organized your Skills and inventoried your business, Fable 5 knows your environment. It's different from explaining everything from scratch to a stranger every time. That's why the resolution of the work you hand over is everything.

It ends in 5 minutes. But the moment you see the accuracy of the improvement suggestions that come out, your way of using the remaining 4 days will change.
