We wanted to give you an update on our plans as we move into the League of Legends offseason.
Coming off the worst year in the history of FNATIC League of Legends, we know how much disappointment and anger this season has caused. We share that disappointment. We have fallen well short of the standards we expect of ourselves and you should expect of us.
You deserve a team you can confidently cheer for, a team that competes on the biggest stages, and most importantly, a team you can be proud of in the good times and the bad. We know substantial changes across the board are needed to put us back on the right path, and we also know these are words you have heard before. Rebuilding your trust will depend on what we do next, which is why we want to share the first steps we are taking.
While it is early days in the off-season and our post-season review is still on-going, we are starting the recruitment process for a crucial role in our 2027 setup: A new League of Legends General Manager. Based in Berlin, this person will be responsible for building the culture, structure and support the team needs to perform at the highest level. They will also provide a vital link between the LoL team and the wider organisation, ensuring we are working together effectively to support competitive success. This appointment is an important first step in bringing a fresh approach to how we build and support our roster, and one that is overdue. We will share further updates as the recruitment process and wider review progress.
In addition to the work to improve performance, we aim to bring you closer to the team again with a priority on transparency and two-way communication. We know that we need to do more to help you understand our decisions, hear your concerns and give you opportunities to ask questions. The Fnatic Fan Association, established earlier this year, has been a starting point for that work and we will build on this in 2027 to look for ways to bring more of you into the conversation. Our content has a vital part to play as well. We want to give you more access, a more honest view at what life is like behind the scenes, and more ways to get to know the players off the rift.
To start that conversation, we will be hosting an X Space with Co-founder and Chief Gaming Officer @sattermon and VP, Esports Franchises @FNC_Xavient on the @FNATIC X channel at 4PM BST/5PM CEST. We will reflect on the season, discuss our approach to the offseason and answer some of your burning questions. We hope to see many of you there.
