There’s a post floating around offering $25/hour to mod a crypto project. Graveyard shifts, 1AM to 7AM. Sounds rough but the pay looks decent so people DM.
That‘s where it starts.
The account is @vadeusnetwork They call themselves the "world's first live blockchain with AI built into the protocol at Layer 0." Big claim. So I went and looked at everything. Every account detail, every link, every repo, every chain. And I want to document what I found cause this is a pattern more people need to recognize.
The Claim
Vadeus Network says it's building a Layer 0 blockchain with AI embedded at the protocol level, token is VDS, testnet is called Prometheus
Layer 0 with native AI. That's a serious technical claim. Like genuinely if that was real it would be one of the more ambitious things in the space.
So naturally I wanted to see the code.
The X Account Doesn't Add Up
Account was created October 2021. Been around a while right. But the blue checkmark was purchased in May 2026. Basically just now.
And here's the thing. The account has gone through 19 username changes. Nineteen. Last one was March 2026. That's not a project iterating on branding. That's someone recycling an old account and building a new identity on top of it.
Bio says USA. Real location is Eastern Europe, non-EU.

3,900 followers. Sounds like a project with some traction. But posts get 20 to 150 views with zero likes and zero reposts. That's not a community. That's bought followers sitting there doing nothing cause they're not real accounts.
Following only one account. One.
There's No Tech. Nothing.
Repo exists at github.com/VadeusNetwork. So at least there's something there right.
0 stars, 0 forks, 0 watchers, 0 contributors, 8 commits total. And those 8 commits contain no smart contracts, no AI logic, no blockchain code of any kind, just a README with marketing copy.
For the "world's first live blockchain with AI at Layer 0."

Their website throws a 500 error and the GitBook docs are just blank template pages. No architecture, no tokenomics, no team, no audits, nothing filled in. And the token isn't on CoinGecko or CoinMarketCap. No contract address anywhere, no blockchain explorer, no on-chain activity of any kind. Only appears on Coinscope and Coinsniper which list anything.
No contract address means no chain and that's really all you need to know.
The Hiring Funnel Is the Actual Product
This is the part that matters most.
They post jobs offering $25/hour for content creators and moderators. Shifts from 1AM to 7AM. It's aimed at people who need income and are willing to grind weird hours for decent pay.
You DM them. They send a DocSend link.

Open that link on mobile and it prompts you to download an app to view the terms. That app is not for viewing terms. There are already people in the replies flagging it as malware.
This isn't a hiring process. It's a funnel. The job post is just the entry point to get you to install something on your device.
The Chrome Extension and the Airdrop Loop
On top of the hiring angle they're also pushing a Chrome extension. Framed as VDS farming, the pitch is you earn VDS tokens passively while you browse.
Do not install it.
And alongside that there's the usual testnet task loop. Missions, faucet claims, staking wVDS. Classic wallet collection setup. Get as many wallets connected and as much data gathered before either a rug or just fading completely.
Both serve the same purpose. Get access to your device or your wallet. That's the whole play.
How to Spot This Before It Gets You
Most of this could've been caught in five minutes. So here's what to actually check before engaging any project offering work or airdrops.
Check when the account was created vs when it got verified. A fresh checkmark on an old account is a flag. And if they've changed their username more than a couple of times that's another one, legit projects don't rebrand nineteen times.
Open the GitHub before anything else. If it's just a README with no actual code there's no product, doesn't matter what the website says.
Search the token on CoinGecko and CoinMarketCap. No listing and no contract address means it isn't real yet, and if they're already running airdrops and testnet tasks with no on-chain presence that's the red flag right there.
Never open DocSend links from cold DMs and never install a browser extension from a project you can't verify on-chain. Those two things alone cover most of the damage these operations cause.
And check the replies before you do anything. The community usually already knows.
Every Box Checked
Recycled account, fake location, bought followers, placeholder GitHub, broken website, empty docs, no chain presence, malware recruitment funnel, Chrome extension, airdrop wallet collection.
Every single box in the standard Web3 scam playbook. Zero engagement from any KOL, developer, or auditor, only job applicants and scam warnings in the replies. There's even a second account, @vadeus41962, sitting at zero followers, likely an earlier alt or test account.
Vadeus Network is not a blockchain. There is no AI protocol. VDS is not a real token. Prometheus is not a testnet. It's a data collection and device access operation dressed up as a crypto project.
If You've Already Engaged
If you clicked the DocSend link and downloaded anything, scan your device immediately. If you connected a wallet to any of their testnet tasks, revoke approvals now at revoke.cash.
And if you've seen this account being promoted somewhere, report it. Hit the flag on @vadeusnetwork directly on X. The more reports the faster it gets actioned.
Stay sharp out here. These operations aren't sophisticated. They don't need to be, they just need one person to not check.
Follow @KMCrypton for more investigations like this. And if you've seen something similar drop it in the replies, the more we document the harder it gets for these to run.
