Success is driven by the abnormal ability to perform mundane tasks consistently and the courage to seize unconventional opportunities that most people ignore.

To the question "How can I succeed?", many people imagine special talent or a specific environment.

However, from my experience, I am convinced that the difference between those who succeed and those who don't boils down to a surprisingly small "difference in thinking and action."

I feel there are far too many people in the world who don't notice opportunities passing right in front of them, or even if they do, they don't reach out for them.

On the other hand, those who survive and win continue to take actions that might seem abnormal to others, doing so calmly as if they were simply breathing.

This time, I will talk about the mindset for grabbing luck and continuing to produce results, which I learned through business settings and harsh challenges.

1. The Power of Consistency: Accumulating "Like Breathing"

When looking at people who achieve great results from the side, one might be impressed, thinking, "How can they keep doing such hard work every day?"

For example, they perform time-consuming and labor-intensive tasks like video editing or tedious data organization every single day without fail.

However, to them, it is no longer even "effort."

They have become so accustomed to the work that instead of feeling pain, they carry it out with the same sensation as breathing air.

This "ability to continue doing boring things matter-of-factly and as a matter of course" becomes the greatest weapon in competition.

Many people give up halfway because they aren't in the mood or want to rest on weekends, but in the world of competition, those who persevere until the end survive.

More than special inspiration, this "quality of consistency" is the decisive point in determining whether you can win.

2. "Pride" Creates an Obsession with Victory

What I noticed participating in business and grueling races is that strong people have an abnormally strong desire to "definitely win."

For example, in a team race where there is no prize money, there are people who go all out to win for the sake of honor.

They approach it with pure pride, thinking, "If I'm going to do it, I don't want to lose."

On the other hand, people who don't win compromise early on, thinking, "This rank is good enough."

This attitude of "giving it your all until the end" shows up directly in business as well.

If you have a strong desire to sell a product, instead of just waiting, you will think of every possible means—such as going directly to nearby facilities for sales—and execute them immediately.

Whether you stop this "ingenuity for winning" or challenge it with the intensity of a 100-meter sprint makes a huge difference.

3. What to Do Before "Work-Life Balance"

In this day and age, many voices emphasize work-life balance, but at least in the initial stages of starting a business or a new challenge, that idea might become a shackle.

When I first started my business, every day was as grueling as a "death march."

Unforeseen circumstances occur, such as losing contact with a key person right before a deadline.

In such a harsh environment, the reality is that you can't talk about "balance" until you have some mental leeway.

For those who lack mental toughness or the resolve to overcome harsh situations, the task of creating something from zero will be extremely difficult.

First, go through a period of thorough persistence, and only after leeway is born should you consider balance. I feel deeply that not getting this order wrong is the secret to increasing your survival probability.

4. The True Nature of Luck Lies in the Abnormal Act of "Picking Up the Peach"

I believe that 99% of success is "luck."

However, whether you grab that luck depends on your own actions.

Here, I value the "Peach Picking" theory, using an old folktale as an analogy.

When a giant peach comes floating down the river, an ordinary person might think, "Something weird is floating by" or "That's scary," and ignore it.

Or, they might be so focused on their usual work that they don't even notice the peach floating by.

However, only those who can pick it up without hesitation, thinking, "What is this? This is interesting!" will grab good fortune.

Business is the same.

When the "giant peach" called the Internet once came floating down, many experienced adults looked at it coldly and ignored it.

The peach of opportunity floats in front of everyone many times.

Whether you can become an "oddball" who picks it up without being afraid of it being "abnormal" is the only way to get luck on your side.

5. The Courage to "Catch" the Thrown Ball

In this world, seeds of opportunity are scattered everywhere.

Someone proposing an interesting idea or recruiting members for a new project is exactly like "knocking a ball."

However, a surprising number of people do not try to catch that ball.

I don't know if they are afraid of failure or if they think it's a hassle, but they just watch the ball go by even though it was thrown right in front of them.

If you want to succeed, start by "reacting."

Cling to the thrown ball, pick up the floating peach, and run for your pride even if you might embarrass yourself.

I believe that beyond that accumulation of unglamorous effort lies the overwhelming success that others call "just being lucky."

Conclusion: The One "Abnormal" Action That Turns Luck into Inevitability

Even if 99% of success is "luck," whether you can grab that luck depends on whether you can pick up the "abnormal opportunities" floating in front of you without hesitation.

Develop the habit of picking up the giant peaches that others ignore and accumulating mundane daily tasks as naturally as breathing.

Discarding the compromise of "this much is enough" and having the resolve to see things through to the end for your pride will dramatically change the scenery of your life.

When I first started business, I was a person who sought efficiency.

Every time I started something, I would start with research and find myself missing the timing.

Information would just increase, and I would end up without taking a single step.

Meanwhile, my heavy hips would get even heavier, and I'd lose sight of the reason to move.

I can say it now.

This type of person is the typical pattern of someone who fails in business.

Please do not miss this opportunity.

The accumulation of such unglamorous actions—being the first to go catch the thrown ball—is the only technique to attract good fortune.

I want to continue being someone who reaches out and grabs the future, rather than just a bystander watching the peach float by.
