TL;DR

Anduril and AWS are bridging the gap between commercial cloud and the battlefield by deploying ruggedized data centers that provide compute and AI in disconnected environments.

Partnership delivers native cloud compute, GenAI, storage, and networking services to contested environments.

Modern operations run on data. Command and control, ISR, logistics, mission planning, and autonomy all depend on access to significant compute infrastructure.

While commercial cloud infrastructure has transformed how organizations build and operate applications, the environments that matter most to warfighters remain out of reach. Contested battlespace, disconnected forward positions, and expeditionary operations are where decisions are made in seconds and connectivity is never assumed.

Anduril and Amazon Web Services (@awscloud) are closing that gap. AWS has named Anduril a preferred edge provider for national security customers. Together, we're extending native AWS storage, networking, compute services, and APIs into contested, disconnected, and forward environments on hardware where commercial cloud footprints were never built to go.

Infrastructure That Goes Forward

Today, Anduril is introducing Menace-I with AWS Outposts, a deployable data center that extends native AWS services into contested environments. The system carries AWS Outpost compute racks in transportable shelters that two non-specialized personnel can stand up in under ten minutes and moves by truck, rail, airlift, or helicopter sling load. Multiple configurations scale from single-rack tactical deployments to multi-rack systems for compute-intensive missions requiring AI and high-performance processing. Each system is built to handle specific classification requirements, from Unclassified through sensitive compartmented information (SCI), with cross-domain solutions for moving data between networks.

For three years, Anduril’s Menace-I solution has delivered data center-grade processing in contested and disconnected environments. Anduril's deployable command, control, compute, communications, and intelligence platform has accumulated more than 50,000 fielded hours across global deployments. It is accredited to process Sensitive Compartmented Information Facility (SCIF) and a Special Access Program Facility (SAPF) data and runs on Voyager, Anduril's rugged computing platform.

In August 2025, U.S. Marines sling-loaded a Menace-I beneath a CH-53K King Stallion, validating the system as the only fully integrated mission planning solution for fifth-generation aircraft transportable by organic Marine Corps assets. Earlier that year, Anduril delivered the first petabyte-scale Menace-I configuration, bringing high-performance computing and GPU acceleration to forward operations

Beyond Hardware

Menace-I with AWS Outposts is one piece of a broader effort. Anduril and AWS are working together across cloud and edge infrastructure, field experimentation, and acquisition to accelerate capability delivery:

  • S3 on Menace Platforms. AWS Simple Storage Service (S3), Amazon's cloud storage platform, now syncs with Menace platforms. For example, imagery captured by autonomous drones is synchronized through S3, giving operators a shared repository that remains available across systems even when network connectivity is degraded.
  • Project MAVERICK. Anduril is a collaborator on AWS's Project MAVERICK (Mission Autonomy Versatile Rapid Innovation and Capabilities Kit), AWS's mobile field-testing platform for autonomous systems. A recent joint exercise in Gore, Virginia validated conversational drone-swarm control, AI in DDIL conditions, and C2 interoperability across systems including Menace-T running Lattice.

The partnership also expands procurement options for defense AWS customers. Anduril and AWS offer autonomous systems, command and control software, and Menace solutions through the Joint Warfighting Cloud Capability (JWCC) Marketplace, providing a streamlined acquisition path.

Built to Win

The United States cannot assume that adversaries will allow uncontested access to the infrastructure that enables modern operations. Our adversaries are investing in capabilities designed to deny, degrade, and destroy the networks and facilities U.S. forces depend on. Winning in that environment requires infrastructure that operates when everything else fails, infrastructure that moves with the mission, stands up in minutes, and delivers cloud-grade processing where decisions are made.

Anduril and AWS are delivering that infrastructure.
