TL;DR

Neji Sato is opening his massive archive of 7,000 ideas through "Rental Planning Documents," allowing creators to use his concepts for commercial proposals. The service aims to match dormant ideas with the right brands.

I have been taking notes on ideas since 2010. The count is around 7,000. Of course, most are just minor notes, but among them are over 1,000 projects I hope to realize someday. Probably.

However, it is impossible for me to propose and realize all of them alone. Therefore, I am starting "Rental Planning Documents," a service where I turn ideas into full proposals (target, appeal, implementation, suitable companies) and rent them out to people who want to use them in their own pitches.

By "commercial use OK," I mean that the planning documents can be used for proposals to clients and others. When it comes to implementation, we will discuss the level of involvement—whether we work together or I simply hand over the plan.

1: What is Rental Planning Documents?

This is a service where I rent out planning documents for ideas that I think would be interesting to execute. I plan to increase only my own planning documents, rather than hosting plans from an unspecified number of people.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

Also, I am not giving away ideas for free. It is strictly a "rental" of the planning document. When implementing, we will discuss how to proceed, whether as a collaboration or a hand-off.

● Ad agency producers, sales reps, production companies, and creators can include them in client proposals.

● City officials can adopt them for tourism planning.

● Shop owners or event organizers can consider them for attracting customers.

These are the types of uses I envision.

Finding the Right "Destination" for the Plan

Usually, I think of plans based on the challenges of brands or companies. On the other hand, I have continued to accumulate ideas that come to mind regardless of specific projects. Among them are things I want to realize but haven't had the opportunity to propose, or things that didn't reach fruition. City planning, shop planning, tourism, products, events. I feel they would get a good reaction, but I haven't found the place where they fit. That was the challenge.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

At my current pace, many ideas will die without being realized. That's normal, but it's a waste.

If that's the case, instead of me searching for proposal destinations alone, I should make the planning documents available for rent and carry them to proposal opportunities all over Japan. This was the motivation for starting this service.

2: Commercial Use OK for Proposals

These planning documents can be used commercially up to the proposal stage. You can put them in ad agency pitches or production company proposals to clients. We don't limit the genre of the proposal destination—government, TV programs, shops, tourism, product planning, etc.

However, when implementing the plan, please contact us to discuss how far I or Blue Puddle will be involved. Please read the next section for details.

3: FREE Plans / PRO Plans

There are two types of plans: "FREE Plans" and "PRO Plans."

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

A: "FREE Plans" - OK to Implement with Credit Only

Free plans are basically OK to implement as long as you include the credit "Plan by Neji Sato." It is also possible for me to do no work and just hand over the plan.

*However, I may decline depending on the project content! For example, if the project and plan don't match, or if the structure isn't appropriate.

When you put ideas out on social media, someone who sees them might implement them. The person who came up with the idea might feel "plagiarized," but this can happen and can't be stopped. If that's the case, I thought it would be healthier to make them "FREE Plans" from the start, have my name credited, and make it so we can "create together instead of just copying." I can even give advice when it's implemented. It becomes a win-win.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

However, the results change completely depending on how the plan is implemented. It will likely be necessary to finalize details or adjust the plan to match the project's goals. In some cases, I might join until the plan is finalized and receive a planning fee. Or, of course, I might join until production.

By the way, the ideas in the Free Plans are not necessarily "lame ideas." They include versatile methods that work even if multiple companies implement them (e.g., face-in-hole panels), things I want to see realized even if the hurdle is lowered (e.g., 1,000 bookstores), things better left to someone else, or plans that work even if the design or production isn't perfect.

B: "PRO Plans" - Created Together with Neji Sato / Blue Puddle

Pro plans are ones I have a strong personal attachment to and want to realize by being involved in the planning and production. In some cases, it's better to discuss the structure in advance at the proposal stage.

However, I haven't decided that I will be involved until the end of production for all Pro plans. The level of involvement changes depending on the structure and situation, such as if the proposing side already has a creative team or if my availability is difficult. I might participate only in the planning, or I might join until production. We'll decide while talking, just like a normal project.

4: Specifically, What Kind of Plans Are There?

There are various plans for events, cities, shops, tourism, PR, products, and measures for children. It's faster to see them on the site, but here are a few.

https://blue-puddle.com/plans/search

Dumbbells the Weight of a Child

Cute dumbbells the weight of a newborn baby. These can be used for baby products, birth gifts, or gym brands wanting to PR to families.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

For each plan, I have prepared the planning document in three formats—PDF, PPTX, and Keynote—making it easy to integrate into your own proposal documents.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

Also, for many ideas, I have prepared a manga version of the planning document. It's recommended for grasping the content quickly.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

Yo-Ho Search

A "mountain echo" experience where you shout a question toward a mountain and it gives you an answer. This is realized using a microphone, speaker, and AI. It could be used as PR content for tourist spots, local governments, hotels, etc.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

Tabloid Immersive

An immersive project that reproduces actual gossip articles. You can experience the incredible sensation of being at the scene of scandals like affairs or tax evasion seen in the news. The implementation hurdle is high, but it's a plan that could be used by companies or individuals who can handle past turmoil self-deprecatingly, or for tabloids and events.

A Town with 1,000 Bookstores

Anyone's bookshelf is interesting. This is a tourism project that opens these up as "tiny bookstores," creating many bookstores in a town. It's a plan for local governments, shopping districts, or book-related brands that want to attract people.

5: Aiming for Over 1,000 Plans Over Several Years

There are currently over 40 plans on the site.

I don't intend to list throwaway ideas just to increase the number. I will post them one by one, focusing on things I think are quite good but that I likely can't realize myself, or plans I've tried to realize in the past but couldn't and decided "it's okay to put it out now."

By my calculations, 2 plans a week. 100 plans a year. If I continue this for 10 years, it will exceed 1,000 plans. With 40 plans, it still looks like a normal planning site. But if 1,000 or 1,500 plans are lined up, it will become something extraordinary. I want to keep it going for a long time until it reaches a state like "the violence or madness of planning."

By the way, below is my personal app where I collect all my idea memos. 7,309 items are currently recorded. Most are unusable, but occasionally there's a good one.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image
佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

I Use AI, but Much is Made Manually.

For each plan, I write the website description, create the planning document, prepare images, and even create a manga so the key points are conveyed immediately.

Of course, I use AI where I can be efficient, but I basically write or refine all the text myself. The planning documents have a format, but I think through the content properly. I use AI a lot for image generation, but even there, I output many times, give detailed direction, and design the images after the base output.

I also draw the manga. I thought manga would be good for conveying the plan quickly. And, of course, the ideas themselves are memos I thought of with my own head.

6: How to Use the Service?

First, look for a plan from the list on the site. You can narrow it down by category or search by keyword.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

Search or browse the list. If you find a good one, go to the detail page.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

The detail page has the plan overview in text and manga.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

If you find a plan you want to use, contact us via the form on the detail page. For acquaintances, a direct message to me is also fine.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

Then, I will send the planning document by email. The documents are available in three types: PDF, Keynote, and PowerPoint.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

I'll leave it to you how to include it in your proposal. Please use it freely. If it goes to implementation, please consult with me on the structure for both FREE and PRO plans. It's smoother to consult before implementation is confirmed. It's easier to handle schedule-wise beforehand.

Also, before the proposal, it's possible to adjust the wording to match the project. Depending on the content of the consultation and my resources, I can also give advice like "for this theme, it's better to change it like this."

6: Who is This Service For?

The most obvious target is people making proposals at ad agencies or production companies.

You've decided on the main Plan A, but you want a Plan B from a slightly different angle. In such cases, you can look at this service and find something that fits the project.

Others include people who want to liven up a town or tourist spot, people who want to attract customers to a shop, people thinking of experiential events, people who want to create a product that becomes a hot topic, or people looking for PR measures. You want to expand one step further with social media or PR, not just social ads. You want a catalyst that gets picked up by TV or news. There should be a plan that fits those times too.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

Also, there are many plans for use in real-world locations.

For web ideas, I can often make them myself, so there aren't many listed here. But plans involving shops or entire towns can't be made without a place to implement them. Consequently, idea memos that couldn't be realized have accumulated.

7: Why Did I Start This?

The reason is simple: compared to the number of ideas I want to realize, I have too little time, too few places, and too few people to propose to.

In my daily work, I think of plans from scratch for each project. I don't have many opportunities to use past ideas. Ideas keep increasing, and the places I can propose them are capped by my time. I felt that was unbalanced.

The Perfect Place for This Idea Definitely Exists Somewhere in Japan

A plan isn't realized by the idea alone. It only gains meaning when it's linked to the place that needs it.

For example, there might be a moment when a certain Japanese sweets shop thinks, "I want to create a product that brings in more customers." A perfect plan for that might be sleeping in my idea book.

But the probability of me and that sweets shop meeting is quite low. It's almost impossible for me to find them and propose.

What I lack is the "number of companies and brands I can propose to." Therefore, if I make the planning documents rentable, various people might connect them to proposal opportunities all over Japan. This niche plan might match with someone seeking it. If so, it's worth doing.

Reversing the WHO, WHAT, and HOW

Another reason for doing this is that I thought I could search for the "appropriate WHO and WHAT" starting from the HOW.

In normal work, there is a goal first. Next, you decide on the strategy, such as the WHO (target) and WHAT (benefit/brand equity to deliver). Finally, you think of the HOW, which is the means to achieve that. This is the basic flow.

If a creator starts from the "idea they want to do (HOW)," it will deviate from the client's goal. So, in my work, I also think of the goal and WHO/WHAT first, and create a HOW that is effective for achieving them. This is very common sense.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

But after doing this job for a long time, I began to think that it's also possible to have the HOW first and search for the "goal, WHO, and WHAT" that fits it. Not just self-satisfaction in realizing an idea I want to do, but calculating the correct strategy backward from the HOW and searching for a brand that fits it. I thought that might be a new way of creating work.

I already have over 1,000 attractive HOWs at hand.

I just need to search all over Japan for projects with the WHO/WHAT that perfectly fits that HOW. The idea of reversing the usual flow of creating strategy from the top down, starting from the HOW, is interesting.

"Mitarashi Molecules" Searching for the Appropriate WHO and WHAT

For example, there is an idea (HOW) called "Mitarashi Molecules." If a normal Japanese sweets shop does this, it's just eccentric. It could even damage the brand.

● HOW: Mitarashi Molecules

An idea for dango that become molecular symbols like H2O by changing how the skewers are inserted.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

● WHO: Science Cluster

However, there is a possibility that among 120 million people, there are those who think a Japanese sweet with a molecular structure motif is fun and worth buying. What comes to mind are science students or people in the science cluster. People who like Kimwipe jokes on social media.

● WHAT: A Japanese sweets shop that likes releasing unusual products

Furthermore, there must be sweets shops that like slightly unusual things. If it's a shop where releasing such an idea-driven product leads to an increase in brand value, then implementation is a go.

This means that if I can meet a "sweets shop that likes unusual things and is near a science university," this plan has the potential to become something great.

Furthermore, I will join in and give advice on how to PR the Mitarashi Molecules. Define this measure as a PR product. It's not just for business, but to get people to recognize the company's brand. Also, how to put it out on social media and press releases, the importance of photos, compatible social media, how to show shop POPs, and so on. If we fill in the details, it will surely become something good.

佐藤ねじ / ブルーパドル - inline image

There are many plans like this where the value is visible if you do them. But for that, a happy encounter with a "client" is necessary.

I hope this service becomes a happy matching service for plans and clients, as well as an idea collection.

8: The "Irasutoya" Version of Planning Documents

When thinking about this mechanism, "Irasutoya" was a helpful reference.

**● Other people's illustrations = Irrelevant except for fans

● Other people's unrealized ideas = Who cares?

● Illustrations you can use = A tool you can use too

● Plans you might be able to realize = A tool you use too**

Works by famous illustrators are basically things to "look at." But "Irasutoya" is seen as a "tool" that you can use yourself. Because you can bring it into your own life and work—school handouts, planning documents, town signs—everyone from elementary schoolers to adults recognizes it.

--

I thought the same applies to ideas.

Someone else's plan, even if interesting, is basically someone else's. If an idea is posted on social media and goes viral, that's the end of it. But if that idea becomes "usable for your own proposal," the way it's seen changes completely. It's not just a plan to look at, but a plan that is useful for your own work.

When internalized like that, ideas begin to have value even at the idea stage. I find that very interesting. I hope to make this service like an "Irasutoya version of planning documents."

9: Risks and Benefits

Of course, there are many risks in putting plans out there.

It's a waste to put out intellectual property like this. There's a possibility it will be implemented in an unintended way. There's a high chance it will be made poorly and released to the world in a lame form despite being a good idea.

Even so, I decided it's better to rent them out than to let them die without being released. (For now)

There are many people who can make things more beautifully than I can. There are people who have implementation sites I couldn't reach. Through this service, I should be able to connect with people thinking of interesting things in towns, or people looking for plans in shops or regions—people I wouldn't have met just by doing my normal work.

However, if I decide it's difficult after trying it out, I intend to stop the service immediately. I'll judge that by trying it.

Even if it's Not Realized for 10 Years, it Might be in the 11th Year

Another big benefit is that "ideas can keep shining with possibility until they are realized."

An idea posted to social media just becomes a bit of a memory if it goes viral. If it doesn't, it just flows away and becomes like it's dead. But if I keep it here, even if it's not realized for 10 years, it keeps the possibility of meeting the perfect place in the 11th year.

Just because it wasn't realized for 10 years doesn't mean it's a lame plan. It just hasn't met the place and timing it should meet yet. As long as it's in this service, the idea continues to live with the possibility of being realized.

10: Summary

My company, Blue Puddle, plans and produces content that acts as a catalyst for growing companies and brands. We create various measures such as Hidden Milestone Celebrations / Board Game Hotel / Adventure World / Helpful Children's Clothing / Strange Web Media. We are always thinking about how to increase recognition, attract customers, and make people like a brand.

I've put plans into this service that utilize the knowledge from such work. However, there are also many "flawed" plans that are very sharp, have too high a hurdle for realization, are distorted, or have very limited places where they can be used.

But there are many plans that will yield good results if used in the perfect place.

First, please take a quick look at the list. Even if there's nothing you use right now, I'd be happy if you remember "Oh yeah, there was a strange plan in that service" when you're proposing something.

In the future, I also want to create things like an "MCP for this service" so you can search from Claude Code or codex.

I intend to aim for over 1,000 plans over the next 10 years (probably). I want to keep this going for a long time, so thank you for your support.
