Source: Cowboys signing running back Tyler Goodson off Falcons' practice squad

HOUSTON -- The Dallas Cowboys are signing running back Tyler Goodson off the Atlanta Falcons' practice squad to their 53-man roster, according to a league source.
Goodson, a 25-year-old former Iowa standout who has also played for the Green Bay Packers and Indianapolis Colts, joins the Cowboys after Malik Davis' season-ending hip injury suffered in practice that required surgery.
Goodson, who rushed for 1,151 yards and six touchdowns in his final season at Iowa, is a 5-foot-9, 200-pound former All-Big Ten selection who has run the 40-yard dash in 4.42 seconds.
Originally signed by the Packers as an undrafted free agent, Goodson joined the Colts in 2023. He rushed for 264 yards and one touchdown, averaging 4.9 yards per carry, with a touchdown catch in three years in Indianapolis. He has 19 career receptions for 103 yards.
The Cowboys' backfield is led by starter Javonte Williams with Emari Demercado as the primary backup. They signed Israel Abanikanda from the practice squad to the active roster after Davis' injury.
