Marathon's Ordnance Heist event introduces the Firestorm, a high-damage incendiary power weapon, alongside new UESC rewards and multi-zone PvPvE objectives.

For a limited-time, Runners will be tasked to take down UESC enemies during the Ordnance Heist, a new PvPvE experience built around a multi-run chase across different Zones.

Hunt through different zones, earn UESC Manifests, and spend them on fresh MIDA and Traxus rewards while you work your way toward the hottest prize in the system, the Firestorm. Just remember - the UESC won't go down without a fight, and neither will rival Runners.

The hunt will run from August 18th at 10AM PT to September 1st at 10AM PT.

The Firestorm - Once acquired, the first power weapon of its kind can be used for the remainder of a run to rain hell over your foes, converting into credits upon exfil.

The Hunt

Your first task will be to hunt down enemies on Perimeter, earning UESC Manifests and key templates. The tougher the foe, the better your odds. Just be sure to make it back to exfil to secure your loot.

A key template is only the beginning. Complete its embedded objective on Dire Marsh (Day/Night), then exfil with the finished template to convert it into a Firestorm Locker key. That’ll bring you one step closer to acquiring your newfound tool of destruction.

To boot, exfilling while using a MIDA or Traxus Sponsored Kit will grant an additional 15 UESC Manifests.

The Locker

Three Firestorm Locker keys is the magic number - and the number you’ll need before the final stretch can begin. Once you’ve earned a total of three, bring them to a Firestorm Locker on Perimeter, Dire Marsh, or Outpost and get ready to turn a long hunt into a very loud opening ceremony.

The catch? You won’t be the only Runner who knows what those keys are for. Other crews will be hunting for the same locker, the same loot, and the same chance to walk away with the Firestorm. Move quickly, keep your eyes open, and be prepared to negotiate if somebody else gets there first. (Negotiation may, of course, involve significantly more gunfire than the word usually suggests.)

Find the locker, use all three keys, and claim the Firestorm alongside a haul of valuable loot. The UESC won’t be thrilled about this development of course. But just remember, Firestorm cannot be retained. If you exfil with it, the weapon is converted into credits, so spend the magazine before you lose the chance, then get out with whatever you can carry.

The Firestorm

The Firestorm is our first power weapon system to enter the roster. Built on a heavily customized Hardline HPR frame, Firestorm comes loaded with three custom contraband mods:

  • It features a sniper scope that gives the precision rifle extended reach.
  • Its weapon chip turns every round into an incendiary explosive that detonates on impact, dealing serious damage and generating heat against Runners. This is not a subtle weapon.
  • The custom magazine only holds six shots.

When you exhaust the magazine, there’s no reload waiting for you - and additional ammo isn't available to let you replenish. That limited supply is part of the point - Firestorm is tuned to be our first experimental power weapon, delivering a sharp spike of power when you need it most in both PvE and PvP before eventually going out in a blaze of glory.

Once you’ve spent those six shots, exfil with Firestorm to convert it into credits, or leave it behind once it has done its job.

After the Ordnance Heist has ended, the Firestorm will persist as a possible drop in Supply Drops on Zones that feature them.

UESC Manifests are the engine driving your progress throughout the hunt. Each day, you'll be able to purchase up to two Key Templates, one in each Armory for MIDA and Traxus.

Additionally, UESC Manifests earned can be spent on MIDA and Traxus wares specifically designed to keep you on the hunt with items like Sponsored Kits, Implants, and Weapon Chips.

Here’s a preview of some of the new Superior Implants and Chip Mods that will be available for UESC Manifests in the MIDA and Traxus Armories:

  • Head Implant: Backdraft – You deal increased damage to overheated hostiles
  • Torso Implant: Chain Reaction – Defeating an overheated hostile creates an explosion that overheats nearby hostiles
  • Chip Mod: Nervous Energy – While under the effects of Cardio Kick, eliminations and downs grant a stack of increased ADS speed, reload speed, and equip speed
  • Chip Mod: Ego Challenge - Improves range, accuracy, and ADS speed as the magazine empties

Get in, get the keys, and try not to let somebody else leave with the locker you worked so hard to find.

See you on Tau Ceti.
