Dear Mo Salah,
First of all, welcome. Welcome to the world's largest city team. As Trabzonspor fans whose roots are in Trabzon and whose branches spread all over the world, we are very happy to welcome a humble superstar like you and make you a part of our city and our team.
You must have understood the happiness we feel and the hope we have from what you experienced at the two airports on the very first day; but you can be sure there is more. We want to talk about them a bit.
On the day you left Liverpool, we watched your last match with tearful eyes and Anfield's farewell to you as you left the game. How could we have known then that your next stop would be this wonderful city of the Black Sea, our home? Even this makes what we are experiencing feel like a dream.
What you can provide with your actions, your past, and your statistics is clear. We have no doubt. It seems funny to us that some European circles think choosing Trabzonspor is a step down. Because they don't know Trabzonspor and the people of Trabzon. That's where you come in. First, you will see, understand, and announce very well that this team is a unique team and club. This community carries unique characteristics. It attaches a lot of meaning to football, not just to the score but also to the game played.
It has spent its life showing those who constantly say 'you can't do it' that it can achieve the impossible, and has gained success and honor with its stubbornness. It is the team of all the people, where there are no class differences. Each of us is an equal part of this community. A club whose chairman of the highest board is a retired mathematics teacher.
At the same time, it is a club of excited people where scuffles, competition, and harsh arguments are not lacking, which occasionally harms itself, but has achieved all its success with this stubbornness, competition, and strife.
They will surely introduce you to our city, which is the cradle of many civilizations and the main port of the Silk Road. When you see our geography, you will agree with these words written by journalist and author Meriç Enercan in his book 'Everywhere is Trabzon for Us 2': 'For the people of Trabzon, caught between the steep mountains behind them and the wild Black Sea in front of them, football was an easy task played on flat ground.'
The experience you had in Liverpool was very special. Very similar, perhaps even more intense, you will experience here; because even your arrival in the city made us happy before the first whistle blew and the kickoff was made. We never forget those who make us happy and proud. You are in a very special place. One of a kind.
We believe that you will do great things with our coach Fatih Tekke, who came from within us and is our legend. We are sure you will make us very happy and you will be very happy. We have no doubt that you will add authentic additions to your successes.
When the legendary Liverpool team of the time came to Trabzon on October 20, 1976, they came to a very distant point in Europe and a city they did not know at all, and they were surprised, admired, and defeated. Trabzonspor surprised both Europe and Turkey at that time as well. Although we are far from the center of Europe, you are in a club that is very close to the universal center of both club management, infrastructure, and football philosophy. How happy we are that our players in the youth academies will also dream of playing in the team of a great professional and superstar like you, and they will be motivated.
Let's end with the words of our late artist Volkan Konak:
'Two things are kept in Trabzon. One is the fast (during Ramadan), and the second is Trabzonspor!'
Welcome once again...
