Thank you so much for always using Nui Biyori 🧸
Thanks to your support, we have surpassed 60,000 users! We are truly grateful.
Since the Android version was released, new users have increased rapidly, and we are happy to meet many of your 'uchiko' (plush companions) every day 🍃
Today, I would like to share our plans for the future of Nui Biyori (as of 2026/09/29).
0. What Nui Biyori Values
First of all.
Nui Biyori values providing a "quiet digital space without conflict, where plushies gently accompany you when needed."
As we add new features, we aim to implement and operate them while maintaining this atmosphere as much as possible.
Some added features may be controversial, but please understand that these are necessary attempts to make the 'Nui Biyori' app even better.
We will continue to improve or remove features based on user feedback as needed.
1. New Features
Here is an introduction to the new features currently in development or under consideration for Nui Biyori.
🗺 Outing / Map Feature
To help everyone enjoy 'nuikatsu' (plushie activities) more, we are implementing this outing feature (tentative name).
This allows you to record places visited with your 'uchiko' on a map. We want to enable you to save memories like "I took photos here" and find places other people visited with their plushies.
We are preparing for a release within October next month.
📹 Video Posting
In a recent X poll, slightly more voices said "I prefer photos only (45%)," but many also said "I would be happy if there were videos (39%)." Thank you to everyone who participated.
While valuing the current quiet and gentle world of photos only, we are carefully designing and implementing a direction where video posting can also be enjoyed.
For example:
- A toggle function for "Photos only" or "With Videos"
- Videos can only be posted with "no sound"
- Users must read guidelines regarding video posting before their first post
Even after implementation, we will review things as needed considering user feedback and operational costs.
This is an experimental initiative, so we appreciate your understanding.
🗣️ English and Korean Support
Fortunately, Nui Biyori has seen an increase in East Asian users from "Taiwan" and "Korea." It seems there are many people overseas who cherish their 'uchiko'.
We received happy voices from Koreans saying, "Nuikatsu is popular in Korea too."
Therefore, we plan to proceed with multilingual support starting with English and Korean. We hope to create a place where cuteness can be shared across borders.
However, as a problem, increasing users leads to increased operational costs. Therefore, we plan to review "monetization points" to ensure many users can use the service.
This is mentioned in the next section, "2. Operations and Revenue."
🐻 App Icon Will Be Updated
Sorry for the long wait 🙇♀️
The new app icon for Nui Biyori has already been drawn by an illustrator.
They created a gentle and cute icon fitting for Nui Biyori.
We plan to submit the change to each store (iOS / Android) alongside the release of the outing feature (tentative name). Please wait a little longer.
2. Operations and Revenue
As more people use Nui Biyori, the costs for servers, databases, etc., have grown. To continue for a long time, we are thinking about revenue models.
Support Plans / Tips
To users supporting Nui Biyori through support plans and tips, thank you very much... 😭
Thanks to everyone, we are able to continue operating this app called Nui Biyori. Once again, we express our sincere gratitude.
Currently, benefits are limited to two types: "Background Theme Switching" and "Supporter Badge." We hope to increase these benefits while keeping the monthly support amount the same.
Also, I read all the messages sent with tips. Although we run it as a couple, we sometimes reread them, which encourages our operations and development. They are our emotional support. Thank you always 😭
Of course, we check AppStore reviews and word-of-mouth on X almost every day. Thank you for the many kind words and opinions 🌷
We try to reflect feedback in the app as much as possible. We apologize if some requests are difficult to address.
Ads
Regarding ads, we did not introduce them to maintain the gentle world of Nui Biyori.
Instead, we cover operational costs through support plans/tips from everyone.
However, honestly speaking, support plans and tips alone cannot cover the following:
- Increase in users due to Android release
- Increase in overseas users due to future multilingual support
- Expansion of photo/video storage capacity, etc...
If we introduce ads, we only consider forms that fit the atmosphere of Nui Biyori, such as introducing shops or creators related to plushies. Our priority is ensuring they do not disturb the time spent looking at your 'uchiko'.
It is still in the discussion stage and hasn't fully started, but if any individuals/companies wish to advertise on Nui Biyori, please contact us via X DM or feedback within the app anytime.
3. Creating a Safe Place
Over the past few weeks, we have strengthened mechanisms like automatically blocking nuisance accounts. This is invisible but we will continue.
If you notice anything concerning, please let us know anytime via reporting or inquiries in the app.
4. Further Ahead: Plushie-Specific EC Platform
The timing is undecided, but we hope to create a system where creators making plushies/plushie clothes and users wanting those works can easily buy/sell.
This feature will likely start after releasing the new features introduced this time and stabilizing operation on all devices. However, introduction and timing are completely undecided, so please understand 🙇♀️
Nui Biyori is supported by everyone's love for their 'uchiko'. We read all opinions and requests.
Continuing forward, we aim to be a place where daily life with your 'uchiko' becomes more fun, progressing step by step.
Please continue to support Nui Biyori 🧸
