This article outlines a detailed strategy for reselling the Swatch x Audemars Piguet collaboration, using Claude AI for store selection and a team of eight to maximize profit during a 72-hour hype window.

I have $400, a Claude subscription, and 8 friends who owe me a favor.

No resale experience. No connections. I've never done a watch drop before.

But I've spent the last week building a plan. And the math is too good to ignore.

Here's exactly what I'm going to do this Saturday and how I'm planning to make $10,000 in one weekend.

First: the numbers, because most people assume resale means small money

It doesn't. Here's what watch drops actually pay:

One unit. One Saturday. $800–1,400 cash.

Multiply that by 8 friends across 3 stores and you're looking at $10,000+ in a single weekend.

That's the plan.

Why this drop is bigger than anything before it

AP has never licensed the Royal Oak design to anyone. Not to Travis Scott. Not to Marvel. Not to a single partner in 54 years.

A real Royal Oak starts at $30,000. The waitlist is years long.

On May 16 Swatch puts that same design on the shelf for $400.

That gap between $400 retail and $1,400 resale exists because of one thing: AP never does this. Ever. And everyone in the watch world knows it.

This is the biggest watch drop in a decade. The resale window will be short and the premiums will be real.

Part 1: Store selection. This is where most people lose before they even start

The classic mistake is going to the flagship store.

Wrong move. MoonSwatch had 5,000 people at Carnaby Street London. Snoopy Moonphase had 150 people in line at 7am in Singapore — and some had been there since the night before.

You won't get a watch at those locations unless you sleep on the pavement.

I used Claude to map the full US store list and split my 8 friends across the best targets:

The answer came back in 60 seconds. Three stores. Eight people. Clear deployment plan.

Stores I'm avoiding:

SoHo NY · Times Square NY · Aventura FL · Miami Beach FL

These will have lines of 100+ people before sunrise. I'm not sending anyone here.

Stores I'm targeting:

Oak Brook IL · Troy MI · King of Prussia PA · Charlotte NC · Nashville TN · Garden City NY

Same stock allocation as the flagships. A fraction of the crowd.

Mall locations over street stores every time. You can rotate between two in 20 minutes. The line is managed properly. Staff is less stressed and more likely to be helpful.

The deployment:

That's the $10,000 target. Eight people. Three locations. One Saturday.

Part 2: Recon on Thursday. Nobody shows up blind

This is the step most people skip. We're not skipping it.

Thursday at noon each team lead drives to their assigned store. Counts heads. Talks to staff. Estimates stock.

I built a recon checklist with Claude:

The decision rule is simple: if the number of people already waiting is higher than my estimated unit count — everyone moves to the backup. No debate. No hesitation.

A wrong store costs the entire team their Saturday. A 20-minute drive to the backup costs nothing.

Part 3: The full operation from Thursday to Sunday

Total coordination time for me: about 6 hours. Total time for each friend: about 6 hours of standing in line. They go home with $150–200 cash the same day. I go home with $8,000–10,000 net.

Part 4: Pricing. The window is 72 hours and then it closes

The biggest mistake in flipping is holding too long.

MoonSwatch peaked on day 3 and dropped 50% by month 3. The people who made real money sold on Saturday and Sunday. The people who got greedy sold at a loss in month two.

I'm using Claude to price all 8 units in real time:

Sell into the hype. Not after it.

Part 5: What the money actually looks like

The friends get $150–200 cash each for 6 hours of standing in line.

I keep the rest for building the plan, coordinating the operation, and running the sales.

If this works the way I've planned it, the next drop runs with 12 people and four locations.

Part 6: The mistakes I'm actively avoiding

  1. Sending anyone to a flagship store. The lines are impossible and the allocation per head is worse
  2. Skipping Thursday recon. You find out the store has 12 units when your 3 people are already in line at 5am
  3. Listing too high and holding. The 72-hour window is real — the MoonSwatch data proves it
  4. Selling on one platform only. StockX, Chrono24, and eBay have different buyers and different price ceilings
  5. Not keeping receipts and sealed boxes. Documented units sell for 10–15% more
  6. Anyone mentioning resale inside the store. Staff can and will refuse the sale
  7. Paying friends after the watches sell. They get cash the same day regardless. That's how you get people to show up to the next drop

The most expensive mistake is #3. I've read enough forums to know how it plays out. Someone holds for two weeks waiting for $1,800 and ends up selling for $900.

I'm not doing that. None of my 8 units sit past Wednesday.

The tools I'm using

Total cost: $20/month for Claude. Everything else is free.

The timeline if this becomes a system

What I actually need for Saturday

A phone. Claude at $20/month. A StockX account. A free eBay account. Eight friends willing to wake up at 4am for $150–200 cash.

That's the entire setup.

The plan is above. The prompts are copy-paste ready. The drop is Saturday May 16.

Eight alarms set. Three stores confirmed. One shot at $10,000.

I'll post the results Sunday.
