I'll be honest, we were late to crosschain trading. We spent a long time focusing on the launchpad, and by the time we started supporting crosschain swaps ~5 months ago, social trading apps had already made it normal to trade on another chain without ever bridging.
However, the crosschain experience that traders have been stuck with is frankly unacceptable. Our users, and the users of other social trading apps have been telling us this for MONTHS. Our investigation into Relay, the crosschain provider we used and that FOMO still relies on today, completely justifies everything users were telling us:
- More than 1 in 9 crosschain buys on Relay hit an error
- A typical Relay buy took almost 4 seconds to land, and 1 in 10 took over 7 seconds
- The typical trade through Relay got users fewer tokens than it should have
Despite us being one of the latest entrants to crosschain trading, we began acting immediately as soon as we knew the extent to which this was hurting our users. Settling for poor performance just because building something better is complicated, takes time and significant resources is NOT an excuse. Traders deserve better.
So we built our own Bridge and set a new standard for what’s possible
Pump Bridge is now live for every Pumpfun app user, and compared to Relay (used by FOMO):
- Buys land 2x faster
- Buy errors are down 92%, from more than 1 in 9 to fewer than 1 in 100
- Users get MORE tokens for the same money on average
But a crosschain buy can never be instant. The intent has to be built, the intent has to land on solana, then land on the destination chain. At its fastest, an intent can only travel as fast as the speed of light can travel through the internet's infrastructure plus destination chain confirmation time. Put simply, the fastest theoretical time a buy can physically land is ±1.1s. We are actively working to close the gap that remains. We’re dedicating serious resources to continue pushing your trading experience to the limits of what’s possible onchain.
Furthermore, Pump Bridge does NOT currently charge additional bridging fees on your trades.

How we measured
These results come from a randomized test in the Pumpfun mobile app: from 28 September to 7 October, users were randomly assigned to Relay or Pump Bridge for crosschain trades on Robinhood, BSC, Base, Arc and Ink (Ethereum excluded), and re-assigned several times during the test. The test covers 416,669 trade outcomes, including 383,326 timed trades measured from tap to the success notification, plus 35,333 completed USDC buys under $500 for fills.
Our test concluded on October 7 as we simply couldn’t justify subjecting our users to worse performance & costlier trades for the sake of proving a point. Our users deserve the best performance at all times.
