It's no secret that I don't post much about crypto these days, and that's because I only want to share alpha when I think there is a genuine opportunity to make money.
This is one of them.
I spent this past weekend diving deep into the Robinhood ecosystem, and if I'm being honest, it's the first thing in crypto I've been truly excited about in over a year.
The opportunity here is real, and if you only pay attention to one thing in the crypto market right now, it should probably be this.
With that being said, let's get right into things.
Robinhood Chain Explained
Let's start with the basics.
Robinhood is one of the biggest retail trading apps in the world, and its stock has performed incredibly well.
I've actually been bullish on $HOOD since April of this year, and if you're in my private finance group @mileshighclub_, you'll know I had high conviction in adding $HOOD around ~$70.

My $HOOD stock buys in April
At current prices, that position is up +65%, but the real story right now isn't the stock. It's about their new Robinhood crypto chain that could print even bigger gains if you look in the right places.
Robinhood has clearly recognised that building on crypto rails is the new frontier, and if they get this right, it could be a massive extension of their existing business.
They're seeing everyone degening, and gambling, and they want a piece of that action (the same way Coinbase and Base have already carved out their own share of the on-chain economy).
What makes Robinhood Chain different from other exchange-linked chains
Robinhood is, in a sense, the everyone app. Platforms like Coinbase skew toward the existing crypto cohort and people already comfortable with crypto.
Robinhood skews toward retail/normies, and the much larger group of people who already trade stocks on a financial services platform but have never touched crypto directly.
The real bull case for Robinhood Chain is a direct on-ramp connecting their brokerage platform straight into the new chain, letting retail liquidity flow on-chain without friction (more on this thesis later).
The Tech Behind Robinhood Chain
So what actually is Robinhood Chain, technically?
Robinhood Chain is an L2 blockchain built on Arbitrum that settles on Ethereum.
In plain terms, it's a fast, low-cost network that inherits Ethereum's security while running as its own chain, and it's fully EVM compatible.
Ecosystem Analytics & The Bull Case
Robinhood Chain is the most-hyped opportunity in crypto right now - and for good reason, their ecosystem growth so far has been pure insanity.
Stats & Analytics
Robinhood recently flipped Base and Ethereum to take the #2 spot in 24h DEX volume:

DEX Volume
TVL has been skyrocketing ($150m+ and counting):

Every single other on-chain analytics like app fees, chain revenue, stablecoin growth, and so on all look extremely healthy:

On-chain metrics
Not to mention, Robinhood currently has 28M+ active users, and its growth trajectory has been up-only.

The Robinhood Chain Bull Case
As briefly mentioned earlier, the real bull case for the Robinhood chain is onboarding these millions of existing users into the Robinhood crypto ecosystem.
There is already speculation that retail investors will be able to trade seamlessly on the Robinhood chain via the Robinhood app.
Imo, the entire Robinhood Chain bull case essentially hinges on whether Robinhood can successfully onboard its existing users into its new crypto ecosystem.
I think if you align with that thesis, it makes sense to try to gain exposure to Robinhood Chain before the potential mass onboarding event.
I really like Bonk Guy's take here about the second-order beneficiaries of Robinhood Chain and $ETH - I will dive deeper into this thesis at the end of this article.

My Thesis & Personal Opinions
So, what do I personally think about the Robinhood bull case?
I do think it's quite compelling and, overall, one of the better crypto narratives to have popped up over the past year.
I think that if you believe in Robinhood's ability to execute on-chain as they have in traditional markets, it makes sense to gain exposure to capture the potential upside.
However, there is still a lot of vaporware on the chain, and I'd advise against just aping into anything and everything.
The Risks & Caveats
Firstly, as with most things in crypto, buying anything on the Robinhood Chain right now is extremely risky, and it can go to zero.
Secondly, friction is a real constraint. There's no easy bridge onto the chain yet (good and bad thing).
Lastly, it's hard to know what survives. Because the chain is so new, it's difficult to predict which coins will still be around when the ecosystem matures, and many of the current projects will turn out to be vaporware or outright rugs.
However, if you do want to gain exposure, I believe I've developed a valuable framework to minimise downside whilst maximising upside:
Top Robinhood Plays
NFA - remember, everything here is simply ideas
I'm personally interested in projects/tokens with a high "stickiness" factor and staying power.
Aka, if the Robinhood Chain disappears for a month and comes back, which projects have the highest chance of still being relevant? Those are the plays I'm most interested in.
Plays I'm interested in
- $CASHCAT: The main meme on Robinhood Chain. Already backed by core Robinhood team members. Just like $SOL chain, people are incentivised to rally together and push the biggest memes
For me personally, Cashcat has a clear line in the sand, and I'd really like to see it flip the ~167MC level to regain momentum.

$CASHCAT Technical analysis
- $ARROW: One of the top DeFi protocols.
Coming into clear support here, which seems like good R:R to lightly DCA.

$Arrow Technical analysis
- $VEX: Top AI protocol on Robinhood chain.
I also DCA'd a bit of $VEX, as it came into local support last night.

$VEX Technical analysis
My long-term thesis is that more builders will come to the Robinhood chain, and, with that, more altcoin plays could open up. But for now, these are some of the top ways I'm looking at gaining exposure.
In @mileshighclub_ I posted a full research report, along with a few other Robinhood beta plays, for those who are interested.
Lots of alpha is being shared there with the market heating up, and I even called $ARROW at 8M market cap, before it did a 4x+ to 35M.

$ARROW Private group call
The plays listed above are pretty direct exposure to the Robinhood Chain, but I actually haven't seen many people talk about the potential second-order beneficiaries if the Robinhood Chain succeeds.
Second-Order Beneficiaries
Because Robinhood Chain uses $ETH as its native gas token, Ethereum is technically a beneficiary of any Robinhood Chain success.
This is a somewhat indirect way to gain exposure to the Robinhood narrative, but it's still worth mentioning if the narrative really takes off.
I'm generally in the camp that if you want direct exposure, plays on the ecosystem itself are still the better vehicle. ETH is more of a passive tailwind than a targeted bet.
Uniswap is the core infrastructure on Robinhood Chain, and volume has already seen a notable uptick to ~$500 million a day.
Arbitrum is arguably the most direct infrastructure beneficiary of everything happening here, since Robinhood Chain is built entirely on Arbitrum's Orbit stack.
Robinhood is reportedly paying around 10% of its net protocol revenue to the Arbitrum Foundation specifically for using their technology, which means Arbitrum has a direct, ongoing revenue relationship with Robinhood Chain's success, not just a narrative association.
Arbitrum is seeing its first real signs of life in a long time because of this.
TL;DR (recap)
To summarise, I do think Robinhood Chain is a compelling narrative, but I'm not just blindly aping here.
My current positioning:
Small, early exposure only, this is deliberately not a full-size, high-conviction entry yet. CashCat, Arrow, and Vex are where I'm building starter positions (with more on the watchlist).
I'm only looking for projects with heavy stickiness and potential staying power.
The second-order plays:
Beyond the direct ecosystem tokens, it's worth paying attention to ETH, Uniswap, and Arbitrum, all of which benefit indirectly from Robinhood Chain's growth - worth watching if this narrative really takes off.
On risk:
Every single thing mentioned here can go to zero. I'm not telling you to ape into any of this today.
I more so just want to provide good research and put this on your radar, as crypto is a game of attention, mindshare, and narratives that can flip extremely quickly.
Final take:
For me, this is more of a watch-and-wait situation, and I'm sizing my own positions accordingly - enough to have exposure if the thesis plays out, but also small enough that I'm fine if things go to zero.
