AI is going to create some ridiculously cracked people.
Imagine someone who built a hundred-billion-dollar company around their own invention, won Olympic gold, and directed an Oscar-winning film. Then you find out their medical research cured five diseases and they're built like a Greek god.
Sounds insane today. Won't in 15 to 20 years.
Times are changing fast. The idea of pick a lane and focus is the meta of the previous generation.
Now you can almost single handedly run an entire company that used to require 10 employees with very specific skills, without really knowing much about any of those 10 things.
That's the shift. You can take on work that used to require a whole team just to start.
But here's what most people miss.
Most people using these tools aren't doing that.
Tool after tool after tool. New plugin drops, you try it. New model drops, you benchmark it. New workflow thread goes viral, you rebuild your stack.
Six months later you realized you got nowhere. The feed rewards novelty not shipping or making money. So, you keep feeding the feed.
You might think you're ahead of the curve. Most people reading this do. That's the problem.
There's a million people who thought they were at the forefront of AI last year. They're not posting about it anymore. Not because they quit. Because someone else shipped what they were thinking about.
The model isn't your competition. The person using it while you scroll is.
Some people are stuck shipping side projects that never find users. Or building the 14th version of something 30 people need. Treating AI like a casual video game instead of a weapon that lets them become dangerous in more than one domain.
Stop building a 14th AI agent for a problem 30 people have. People are building rocket ships to cross the street. A better model turns your tool into a free feature in a few months. Meanwhile the guy who posted consistently has 15,000 people who love him. He’s going to be the one selling and monetizing, not you.
That’s why distribution matters more than ever right now. Distribution is the undeniable new moat of moats. Taste is the new kingmaker.
The biggest lie about AI is that it levels the playing field. It does the opposite.
High-agency people are using full brainpower plus full AI power to do what once required entire companies. Lazy people are using and writing better excuses.
It’s the best time in history to get shit done and the worst time in history to wait.
I encounter numerous people on a daily basis stuck in the past way of thinking.
“Once I have funding…”
“When I get a full team.”
“I just need a designer.”
Sadly, they are going to stay stuck.
Agency. Agency. Agency.
You can be in the excuse maker category, and have a reason why you can’t do anything. Or you can be the one shipping, taking risks, and figuring it out with AI at our disposal.
I still get pitched ideas with nothing but a deck. No demo. No screens. No mock data.
Show me the thing. Put fake data in a dashboard. Make me feel the product. Get me excited. If you won't do the easy version with AI, why should anyone believe you'll handle the hard version with money?
Agency and taste are the scarce resources now. The willingness to figure out what actually needs doing and do it, even when it's outside what you already know even if you're bad at it at first.
You don't have to be 22.
If you're already using these tools and you haven't broken through yet, the people who double down and then triple down will pull away fast. Everyone else will keep building things that don't matter while the tools get stronger around them.
I'm going to spend the next decade finding out how good I can get at things I haven't even tried yet.
The tools will keep improving.
The people who win aren't the ones who know the most tools. They're the ones who pick one and actually go deep with it.
If you're already decent with AI and you're still not winning, the problem isn’t the models. It’s you. You’re making excuses. You’re not thinking like a vampire that wants to become a king.
