GPT-6 Astra: 10 Use Cases That Exceeded 100k Impressions in Japan Within 2 Days

https://x.com/issui_ikeda/status/2096467418575147367

Only two days have passed since OpenAI released GPT-6 Astra.

In those two days, the Japanese-speaking community on X has already moved past the stage of "reading the announcement" and entered the stage of "letting it sit in currently open software to collect deliverables." Coloring line art in Clip Studio Paint. Directly interacting with Figma to build pages. Generating UI components from world-building text alone. Having it interview them about a desired editing app and building it in 30 minutes. Even if we only pick up posts that exceeded 100,000 impressions, the density is incredible.

Overseas, the first things to go viral were property URLs and Manhattan. In Japan, the first things to go viral were Clip Studio Paint, Figma, MIDI, government-style explanatory slides, and browser games. In other words, people who let Astra sit in their "local work software."

The following are limited to Japanese posts released between September 5 and 6, 2026 (JST) that received over 100,000 views. Posts that only contained translations of the announcement or general impressions were excluded.

Chapter 1: Where the Japanese Community Dived First Within 48 Hours of the Announcement

Astra's selling point was "Astra can do anything you can do on a computer." The English-speaking community proved this with Blender and UE5. The Japanese-speaking community proved it in places much closer to home.

After it started reaching Plus users by the morning of September 5, the common thread among the viral posts was not planning documents. What they were passing to it was concrete. Their own line art. Existing Figma files. A single paragraph of world-building. "I want to make a video editing app. Interview me first." Games where only the names of the desired movements were written.

The approaches are roughly divided into two.

One is Computer Use, where it moves the mouse of the software currently open. Clip Studio Paint layers, Figma frames, Blender rigging. Reports of people just watching from the side stand out.

The other is letting it interview them about specifications before making it. There is an example where a video editing app started from "interview me about functions and specifications" reached a practical level in 30 minutes. It doesn't stop at questions; it finishes the job after asking.

In both cases, success is determined by "what you handed over" rather than layering prompts. People with line art let it color, people with brands let it touch Figma, and people with sound specifications let it output MIDI. Conversely, with abstract instructions like "make it look good," it stops at the same place as models from two days ago.

There are also constraints. Quotas melt away. There are reports that even Pro users used up two rounds of their limits in two days. Therefore, what we should look at is not just "wow," but what was handed over and what came back.

Based on that criteria, I have narrowed down the actual Japanese production use cases that exceeded 100,000 impressions to 10.

Chapter 2: 10 Actual Japanese Production Use Cases That Exceeded 100k Impressions

Each case includes the original post and the prompt to try the same thing. Confirming just before external transmission, billing, or production updates can be a common rule.

  1. Handed over own line art and let it color in Clip Studio Paint

September 5. Handed over hand-drawn line art and requested "color this in the paint software." Astra operated the mouse for layer creation, zooming, and pen selection. $100 Pro, maximum effort used 78%→57% of quota.

Color the attached line art in the currently open paint software. Create layers yourself and place colors without destroying the lines. Do the zooming, brush selection, and layer separation yourself. I am just watching. Do not stop until completion. Completion condition: The line art layer remains, and shadows and main colors are applied.

  1. Had it draw Hatsune Miku / Mona Lisa on ChatGPT

September 5 JST. Since Astra hasn't come to Codex, drawing was done on ChatGPT Pro. The user commented, "I can't draw this well, so Astra is AGI."

Draw [Hatsune Miku / Mona Lisa] from scratch on the canvas. Follow the order of sketch -> line art -> color -> shadow. Proceed while leaving intermediate progress. Pasting existing images is prohibited. Show it to me only after drawing it completely.

  1. Directly operating Figma, from BI to page design

September 6. A report from a practitioner stating that they thought they wouldn't lose to Fable 5 / Opus 5 / GPT-5.6 in design quality, but Astra completely overturned that by directly touching Figma.

Open Figma. Create a page design from this brand's BI. Assets: [Logo / Color / Tone / Reference URL] If there is an existing file, use its components. Do not just mimic the atmosphere from scratch. Completion condition: Top page, one subpage, and a component list. Deliver it in a state where I can review and modify it immediately.

  1. Just by conveying the world-building, usable UI components came out

September 5. "It used to be hard to implement what designers made, but now usable components come out just by conveying the world-building."

Output UI components usable for implementation based only on this world-building. World-building: [1 paragraph] Required items: Buttons, cards, inputs, navigation, icons. Not a visual description, but in a state touchable via code or Figma. Completion condition: They must look natural when arranged on a screen.

  1. Turned a long-desired robot battle into a browser game

https://x.com/hayashimon1/status/2096255665778069957

September 5. Dash, homing, laser blade. Every time they convey "I want it to move like this," it becomes a game. Includes a public URL.

Make a robot battle game playable in a browser. Required: Dash, homing, laser blade. Make it a structure where I can fix it later by saying "I want it to move like this." Do not stop at a demo. Operate it yourself to fix bottlenecks before outputting for publication. Completion condition: The battle can be played without explanation upon opening the URL.

  1. A video editing app in 30 minutes by telling it to "interview me before making"

https://x.com/old_pgmrs_will/status/2096063127125434701

September 5. Specifications were asked first, and a highly practical editing app was returned. The conclusion was "you can make the app you want on-demand by yourself."

Develop a video editing app. First, interview me regarding functions and specifications. Do not let it grow bloated arbitrarily; only include editing features needed right now. Implement after the interview, and verify yourself whether files can be imported and exported. Completion condition: Being able to import assets and export them. Write a short usage guide.

  1. Output MIDI in 2 minutes, and built audio capture software in 2 hours

September 6. The composer himself stated "zero editing." Includes real-world feedback that the commercial value of music has almost vanished.

Create a MIDI file with these specifications. Assuming no post-editing. Specifications: [Tempo / Time signature / Atmosphere / Instruments] Once generated, export it as is. Next, create a simple capture software to record this sound. Completion condition: A playable MIDI file and a software capable of recording.

  1. Combined, rigged, and added secondary motion in Blender for models split by Tripo

September 6. Generated hair, head, and body separately, then used Astra for combining and rigging. The model was completed after leaving it for half a day. Explicitly noted that token consumption is heavy.

Make this character usable in Blender. Parts: Hair / head / body will be handed over separately. Tasks: Combining, rigging, facial expressions, secondary motion (jiggle physics). Look at and fix any alignment issues during combining yourself. Completion condition: The model does not break when posed. Leave the operation steps as well.

  1. How well can it replicate Kasumigaseki's "explanatory diagram slides"

September 6. An experiment letting Astra create those diagram slides typical of government agencies and large corporations. The same account posted a tweet the previous day using Computer Use to add animations to an existing PowerPoint.

Replicate a Kasumigaseki-style explanatory diagram slide. Theme: [Policy / Business Description] One message per slide. Use boxes, arrows, headings, and annotations in that specific style. Do not make it stylish. Prioritize readability and structure. Completion condition: It must look like an official government document even when printed.

  1. Pokémon-style 3D, Shibuya 3D, Tokyo Tower, LP, and editable documents all at once
