There’s more happening around XRP than ever before.
Individuals, developers, companies and institutions are using XRP for everything from buying and holding to payments, trading, apps and new financial use cases, and much of that activity runs on the XRP Ledger.
This is your guide to exploring the XRP ecosystem.
THE NETWORK BEHIND XRP
The XRP Ledger, or XRPL, is the blockchain at the center of the XRP ecosystem. Since 2012, XRPL has settled more than $1 trillion in value, with transactions settling in 3–5 seconds for fractions of a cent.
It’s where XRP moves natively and where developers, companies and institutions are building across payments, trading, stablecoins, tokenized assets, agentic finance and more.
Organizations like the @XRPLF and @XRPL_Commons, along with communities around the world, also help support, educate and broaden the ecosystem.
BUILT TO MOVE VALUE
XRPL can move and settle value in seconds. XRP, as the network’s native asset, plays a unique role in making that possible.
With no issuer and no tie to any single currency, XRP can serve as a neutral bridge between currencies and assets, helping connect liquidity across markets.
And that role extends beyond payments. As more stablecoins, tokenized assets and financial products come onchain, XRP can also support settlement, liquidity and collateral across global finance.
WANT XRP? HERE’S WHERE TO START
XRP is widely accessible around the world through exchanges and financial platforms including Binance, Upbit, Bithumb, Coinbase, Kraken, Uphold, OKX, Bitstamp, SoFi, Rakuten Wallet and more.
Availability varies by market, so check what’s supported in your region and choose a reputable provider.
You can keep XRP with a provider or move it to self-custody for direct control of your assets and keys.
Looking for more info about wallets? Explore XRPL.org:https://xrpl.org/about/uses
If you self-custody, download wallets only from official sources, verify every URL and never share your secret key or recovery phrase. If you are DM’d asking for funds, it’s a scam.
XRP IN TRADITIONAL MARKETS
XRP can now sit alongside stocks, funds and other investments in a traditional brokerage account.
Spot XRP ETFs are available in the U.S. and Canada, while exchange-traded products are available in markets including Brazil, Switzerland, Germany and across Europe.
U.S. spot XRP ETFs include funds from @BitwiseInvest, @CanaryFunds, @FTI_US, @Grayscale and @21shares. @SoSoValueCrypto tracks their assets under management and daily fund flows.
TRADE ONCHAIN
Did you know XRPL launched with one of the earliest built-in decentralized exchanges?
Its native DEX allows assets to trade against XRP and other issued assets directly on the ledger, with liquidity shared across the network rather than fragmented across separate exchange contracts.
XRPL also supports a Permissioned DEX, enabling institutions to trade within approved participant groups while still using the same underlying ledger.
Before trading, check the token issuer, available liquidity and quoted rate. Explore trading tools and interfaces across the ecosystem: map.xrpl-commons.org
PUTTING XRP TO WORK
XRP does not offer native staking rewards, but some exchanges and custodial platforms offer products for XRP holders.
On XRPL, holders can also provide assets to liquidity pools and receive a share of trading fees as liquidity providers.
Understand how returns are generated, use reputable providers and remember that every opportunity comes with risk.
BUILT FOR INSTITUTIONAL FINANCE
Financial institutions around the world are already using XRPL across a growing set of use cases.
- Tokenized assets and funds: products spanning U.S. Treasuries, money market and liquidity funds, commodities and other financial assets are being brought onchain, with firms including Aviva Investors, Guggenheim Treasury Services and Ondo Finance building on XRPL. Explore on RWA.xyz
- Stablecoin flows: assets like RLUSD can support 24/7 settlement and currency movement.
- Custody and market infrastructure: regulated firms are connecting existing financial systems with activity on XRPL. @StanChart now supports institutional custody of RLUSD on XRPL, and Brazil's CSD BR has begun mirroring fund ownership records on XRPL.
And new use cases are being built around:
- Capital markets, including collateral mobility and repo
- Credit and lending
FROM STABLECOINS TO CROSS-CHAIN
XRPL supports a growing range of stablecoins and issued assets, including RLUSD, BBRL, USDB, EURCV, USDC, EURØP and XSGD.
Interoperability is expanding that further. Bridging technologies connect XRPL with other blockchains, while wrapped XRP (wXRP) brings XRP into applications and liquidity pools on other networks such as Solana.
More assets don’t replace XRP’s role. As XRPL’s native asset, XRP is used for transaction fees and reserves and can serve as a neutral liquidity and bridge asset between currencies and tokens.
AGENTIC COMMERCE ON XRPL
AI agents are already transacting on XRPL, with millions of agentic transactions processed to date.
Through tools like the XRPL AI Starter Kit and x402 support, agents can check balances, send payments and pay for APIs, compute and other digital services using XRP or RLUSD.
Support for emerging standards like the Machine Payments Protocol, developed by Stripe and Tempo, is expanding how developers can build machine-to-machine payments on XRPL.
