During the Billa release time in 2007, you said something that stayed in the hearts of your fans:
“Fans love me unconditionally. So, hereafter, I will do movies for my fans.”
Those words meant a lot to us.
We accepted Mankatha. Then came Yennai Arindhaal. We accepted that too, because we believed in you.
Over the years, you chose to work with certain directors and technicians again and again. We supported you.
You decided not to promote your movies. No interviews, no audio launches, no big promotional events. Sometimes, we didn't even get proper updates about your films.
Still, we stood by you.
Then you chose to follow your passion for racing. You built your own team, entered the racing world and put your heart into something that genuinely makes you happy.
We never questioned you.
Instead, we proudly said:
“Age is just a number when passion has no limits.”
We admired your passion. We respected your choices. Most importantly, we supported you.
You also told us to concentrate on our own lives, take care of our families and look at cinema simply as entertainment.
We respected that advice too.
Because, for us, you were never just another actor.
You were someone we believed in.
But Thala… there is something that has been hurting many of us for quite some time.
But sometimes, we have to honestly ask ourselves…
Did you keep the promise you made to us in 2007?
Honestly, Thala… we feel you didn't. 💔
As fans, of course we want our favourite star to be at the top. That's not arrogance. It's not about putting someone else down.
That's simply how fans feel about the person they love.
We want to watch your movies and come out of the theatre feeling proud.
We want those moments where we look at each other with tears in our eyes and say,
“This is our Thala.”
But somewhere along the way, that feeling has started becoming less frequent.
And Thala… you may never know how much that actually hurts.
Every day, we see people comparing you with others, mocking you, questioning your position and trying to pull you down on social media.
We know your journey.
We know where you came from.
We know how much you struggled to reach this place.
That's why we never walked away.
But when people question you, your choices and your place in cinema, we don't want you to answer them with words.
Answer them through your movies.
That's all.
Today, we can clearly see the dedication you are giving to racing.
The preparation. The discipline. The hard work. The attention to detail. The passion.
Honestly, we are proud to see you like that. ❤️
But as your fans, we want to see that same fire when you enter a film set.
We are not asking you to give up racing.
We are not asking you to change your lifestyle.
We are not asking you to live your entire life for your fans.
We just want cinema to receive the same Thala who gives everything when he truly wants something.
Because when you win on the track, we celebrate.
When you achieve something in life, we feel proud.
And when your movie becomes a huge success, somehow, it feels like our own victory.
That's the kind of connection we have with you.
We've supported your decisions even when we didn't completely agree with them.
We supported you when you stayed away from the usual celebrity lifestyle.
We never demanded interviews.
We never demanded promotions.
We never demanded that you explain your personal life to us.
We only wanted one thing.
Give us your best when you make a movie.

Please don't mistake our disappointment for hatred.
We are disappointed because we still care.
If we didn't care, we wouldn't be hurt.
If we didn't love you, we wouldn't expect anything from you.
If you were just another actor, we would watch the movie, give our opinion and move on.
But you are not just another actor to us.

That's why every movie means something.
Every update creates excitement.
