I hesitated a lot before writing this. After consulting with close friends and colleagues, everyone advised me not to speak during this time. However, I am accustomed to being honest and sincere with my followers and the friends I have connected with on Twitter for a long time. So, I decided to share these points—not because of what happened (no, by God), but as a clarification for people who trust and love Ali Yaqoub. Hopefully, my colleagues won't be upset 😁
- First: Yes, Ali Yaqoub, who used to tweet praise or criticism about TV channels, is now an employee at Thamanya. This is something I have announced, and you are aware of it, so there is nothing here that I am hiding.
- Second: I have principles and viewpoints that I stick to. All the tweets you shared, thinking you caught Ali doing something wrong, could have been easily deleted before the news came out. But no, I will not delete any tweet or anything. These are my opinions, and I still hold most of them. Even those where my convictions have changed, I will not delete them because they are part of me and my history. Please look for my old tweets where I demanded full encryption for the league; I will refer back to them below.
- Third: I am a professional person. Do not expect me to write about anything I don't like just so you can come along and say: "Oh, Ali Yaqoub is a brave man who fears nothing, well done!" No, please excuse me, this will not happen. Work has its etiquette and ethics, and God willing, I am committed to them. Just as I stick to my opinions and leave them here ("If they were harmful, they wouldn't have brought me to where I am today").
- Fourth: I forgive all the people who took the tweet and threw it into mentions and tagged every fan club. I only blame those who lack manners and insult others, or the naive ones. Example: A fan club member I know well wrote about me and sent me a private message: "Forgive me, but the topic is getting engagement 🤣 For God's sake!!!"
- Fifth: Thamanya, like any private media institution, pays large sums to obtain rights. It is natural that some privileges and content are paid. This is standard practice worldwide with full encryption. My personal opinion, which I wrote long before joining Thamanya (image attached), is that I support encryption because it raises product quality and preserves its value. But this is my personal opinion.
- Sixth: Criticism is a legitimate right. You know that I was one of the biggest critics of paid channels that do not provide good service and "laugh" at their followers by exploiting the majority's ignorance of technology and content. Here, I am not saying Thamanya is perfect, but I can assure you that Thamanya is not of that type. Rather, Thamanya is keen to listen, and everything you write reaches them. They are also keen to strive and improve the viewer experience, trying hard to provide the latest technical privileges. They do not just broadcast what comes to them as is, but try to improve it and present it to their subscribers.
- Seventh: Thamanya has provided studios and diverse programs for all categories: older men, youth, children, entertainment, serious, interviews, documentaries... This is not a favor or generosity on my part, but it is Thamanya's duty towards the viewer, and they will continue and develop it.
- Eighth and finally: If you think Ali Yaqoub will come out to criticize the entity he works for, I want to tell you to forget it. This place is safe for Ali, not to silence him, but it gave him authority and responsibilities. This is trust and integrity that I will be held accountable for before God. I know my words will upset many, but those who know me, especially my old followers, know that I am frank and do not accept bidding wars or blind promotion. This is heartfelt speech directed to them, and I forgive anyone who jumped in except those who lacked manners.
