Evaluating Non-Classic Route Horses
As I have stated with every filly trial race this year,
the level of the 3-year-old classic group is questionable.
Shion S Article Quote 👇
Juryoku Pierrot, who debuted in a maiden dirt race and ran in the JBC Two-Year-Old Stakes, won the Oaks via an unusual route through the Wakaba Prize.
This resulted in the classic-route fillies being defeated.
Also, Realize Luminous (4th in the Oaks), despite running off a break, finished 3rd leading in a low-level one-win class summer race.
Therefore, this time, from the perspective of taking value in the odds, I want to evaluate horses that missed the classics but had high indices in conditional races, applying index corrections, rather than those aiming for the Shuka Sho via the classic route using the Shion S.
Shion S Results
1st Master Soala Did not run in Oka Sho or Oaks
2nd Something Sweet Did not run in Oka Sho or Oaks
3rd Dream Core 2nd in Oaks
4th Astril Did not run in Oka Sho or Oaks
5th Jiwataneho Did not run in Oka Sho or Oaks
6th Nice Play Ask Did not run in Oka Sho or Oaks
7th Realize Luminous 4th in Oaks
Also, next week's other trial race. Monroe Walk won the Rose S by three lengths after coming up from conditional races, confirming that the evaluation of the spring classic entrants remains at a low level.
This time, I am evaluating late-blooming candidates who missed the spring Oka Sho and Oaks.
Kyoto Race 11
◎8. Monroe Walk <U score 103>
○12. Canal Saint Martin <U score 98>
▲4. Enne <U score 88>
☆1. Galaborg <U score 84>
△6.13.16
Monroe Walk missed the spring classics but won all conditional races and coasted to victory in the Rose S last time with only a light whip, making her a strong late summer riser. Of course, she is a top contender here too, and there are no concerns about the rotation of winning the Kansai Trial Rose S before the Shuka Sho.
Dream Core, considered a rival as the Oaks runner-up, is a Tokyo specialist. Although the soft track didn't suit her in the Shion S, the opposition was weak, and it is highly likely she cannot perform better than in the Oaks.
○Canal Saint Martin
Missed the Oka Sho and Oaks but is a late-blooming candidate from Sunday Racing. In her debut, she raced closely with NHK Mile Cup winner Rodeo Drive, and her index in the Sweet Pea S last time was also good. An upset against the spring classic group is possible.
