TV Tokyo Anime Week: Kento Nakajima Hosts Global Fandom Show

September 28 (Mon) – October 4 (Sun) is "TV Tokyo Anime WEEK"!

This year, we are broadcasting the anime-specialized variety show "Anime Is Eating the Earth" again, hosted by MC Kento Nakajima!

TV Tokyo, which has broadcast numerous beloved anime contents worldwide, is organizing a lineup of premium programs related to anime for "TV Tokyo Anime WEEK" from September 28 (Mon) to October 4 (Sun). There will be plenty of collaborations between TV Tokyo's popular variety shows like "Kaun! Nandemo Kanteidan" and "Shutsugeki! Ado Streetkoku Tengoku" and anime. Furthermore, the second installment of "Anime Is Eating the Earth," which featured Kento Nakajima as MC last year, will air, along with a special program featuring iconic anime scenes spanning the Showa, Heisei, and Reiwa eras.

The special program for "Anime WEEK," "Anime Is Eating the Earth," will air on Tuesday, September 29, at 11:06 PM!

This year, we will deliver it in two parts!

In Part 1 (11:06 PM – 11:55 PM), we will conduct mass interviews with people around the world who have been "eaten" (meaning obsessed) by anime, dubbed [Anikuwasan]!

With anime-loving Kento Nakajima as MC, alongside Yuki Kaji, Tasuku Hatanaka, and Kanishi Takashi Miyashita (Miyashita Kusana), they will passionately discuss the anime that "ate" them while digging deep into the stories of "Anikuwasan" from all over the world!

Then, in Part 2 (Midnight 12:00 AM – 12:30 AM), we will broadcast a special project focused on "Yu-Gi-Oh!," which even MC Kento Nakajima was "eaten" by, titled "Yu-Gi-Oh! It's My Turn Around the World! SP"!

The hugely popular manga "Yu-Gi-Oh!" reaches its 30th anniversary in 2026.

The program infiltrated the card game world championship held in Ariake this August and conducted interviews with people around the world who were "eaten" by "Yu-Gi-Oh!."

We will thoroughly investigate the cards and characters that captivated fans and delve into the charm of "Yu-Gi-Oh!," which has been loved for many years. Expect heated talk overflowing with "Yu-Gi-Oh!" love from the MC who loves it and each guest.

■ Kento Nakajima**

I'm so happy that I can realize through this program how much Japanese anime is loved around the world, continuing from last year's second installment. I personally love anime too, but I found many anime I haven't seen yet or want to watch. Furthermore, Part 2 is a "Yu-Gi-Oh!" SP, which is part of my life! I think I can deliver plenty of "Yu-Gi-Oh!" love to everyone. I believe you can feel through this program that anime fans around the world are having their lives enriched by being "eaten" by anime, so please look forward to it.

■ Yuki Kaji

The long-awaited return of the program! And what a miracle that it airs on the exact same date as the first broadcast! You really have good luck! (laughs)

I was very happy.

Reuniting with Kentty and Miyashita-san, and with new member Tasuku-kun joining us, the studio was even more lively. The structure allowing us to physically feel the anime love from around the world was irresistible this time too! Plus, surprisingly, a "Yu-Gi-Oh!" segment was added, making it even more substantial.

My head was filled with the question, "Why me?!" but after appearing on the show, I understood!! Being influenced by Nakajima-san's passion and the passion of the people from around the world in the VTRs, my heart warmed up, and it was a moment where I truly felt glad to work in animation. What we send out definitely reaches the world. It was truly a gift-like time! Thank you!!

■ Kanishi Takashi Miyashita (Miyashita Kusana)

There aren't many programs where you can see so much overflowing "love"!

The charm is hearing from overseas people about anime, saying things like "I love this" or "This part is great," and feeling proud of Japan's anime culture. In the studio, Nakajima-san's energy was so high that you'd forget he was the MC (laughs). That's what happens when people think about something they truly love, so in that sense, I think a program overflowing with "love" is wonderful!
