TL;DR

A provocative look at how internal mental 'governors' and low-value environments keep people stuck in mediocrity, offering a path toward high-status living.

Why you’re still cheap and how to fix it.

By: Day

Everyone above you is praying you keep asking the world for less.

They want your mind small, your gene pool exposed to the slavish in nature.

A governor was installed in your mind before you could read.

It is why you can only get girls of a lower class than you.

It is why money bleeds out your pockets.

It is why you feel restless.

Why you live the fucking life you hate.

Hovering over prices. Crash landing to take your girl on a date. Hearing yourself say yes to another favor while hating the person asking. Lowering your voice in expensive places you intrinsically believe you don’t belong.

I know all these because the governor ran my life for 20 sum years.

A DISEASE OH A DISEASE.

But a spark got past your governor. You blinked awake for a moment.

That spark is why you clicked on this very essay.

The sheepish scrolled right past. Good. It reads as static to them anyways.

You will live the life you want the day your mind decides you deserve it.

It is why you wear such shitty clothing. It is why you let yourself get fat. It is why you work that JOB. It’s why you take no risks.

As without, so within.

I wake up and stare the sun in the face.

I thank God for the Day and my thoughts begin to drift along the shores of the ocean that is my mind.

I think of those who accepted their place, discarded the birthright God gave them, and submitted.

My brain threatens to explode.

I exhale and sit up.

Fuck stress. Pour up. Fuck a normal life. I spit down on it.

I look from the ocean to the villa, from Daisy to my closet, from the mirror into my eyes.

I start talking out loud.

I’m talking Purple Label linen pants.

Dior button-down Daisy got me.

I’m talking lemon napkins that sprout when watered.

Brioni, Burberry, Botticelli, and my boy Ralph.

I’m talking no logos, but I know.

Skinny girls and skinnier cigarettes.

Mezcal in my espresso at noon.

Spiraling upward through every class, from the gutter to the sun.

I’m talking the old Ludwig thundering through my speakers and over the ocean.

Thanking God every morning.

The wolf howling inside me.

Day and Daise against the world.

The price is going up.

The cheapskates disgust me.

Poorness is a sickness, and the sheep have caught it.

Skip the morning coffee, they preach, then want to kill yourself at work by ten.

yOu WiLl Be HaPpY iF yOu WaNt LeSs!

Start being a minimalist todaaaaay.

ARE YOU SO FUCKING DENSE.

They preach deprivation so they can keep feasting. Slave slave slave away for us you fucking vermin crab, stay in your bucket til we boil you and eat you.

LOOK CLOSE AT WHO TAUGHT YOU TO ASK FOR LESS. The powers that be needing worker ants. The boss needing cheap labor. The friends who needed your ambition to match theirs. The family who called your risk foolish because it would indict their staying!

The people who taught you to ask for less were the people who needed your obedience most.

If you swallowed their propaganda, I pity you.

Stop reading right now if you are happy where you are. This knowledge is for the few. Some people were destined for a life of servility and less.

If you so choose to read the rest, you will never be able to go back. Once you taste the apple you can’t untaste it. Life was unbearable for Adam and Eve once cast out of their EDEN because THEY KNEW. THEY KNEW WHAT WAS POSSIBLE. So if you would like a bite, and would learn the secrets of the expensive, come up a class.

Free Sheep, this is where I lose you.

Wolves, enter the Den. Spark up, sip down, lets go.

Somewhere tonight a man is charging life 10x what you have ever experienced, and life opens her legs to him because she believed him.

This disease gets passed down. Your father whispered, so you whisper. Your son is watching your mouth right now and learning the volume.

The world believed your whisper too.

GET IN A BETTER ENVIRONMENT

Surely you have heard of the crabs in the bucket experiment. Crabs placed in a bucket, crowded and trapped. When one would try and climb out, almost escaping, another crab would pull him back in.

There is a secret crab in that bucket too.

YOUR OWN FUCKING MIND.

When all you see around you is lack, shit luster vermin, poverty, low intelligence people and conversations, the natural human wants to assimilate. You limit yourself so you stay level with your peers. Why should you live up on that hill when all the people you know live down here in the swamp of life. That is for the other lucky privileged people. Ah, the victim mindset. It brings me back to jail…

Well crab, you found a secret hatch. A place you can go, temporarily, that leads to your escape before the other crabs even realize you got out.

WHAT TO DO

Day - inline image

Start going to expensive places. Go grab happy hour at the fine dining spot in the good part of town. Watch how the people act. Feel how the staff serve you and how that makes you feel.

Look at what they wear. How they hold themselves. How they converse. Stay ninety minutes. The price of admission to this classroom is a fifteen dollar cocktail and the willingness to feel out of place until you feel at home.

The longer you spend in these areas, the contrast when you return to the shit holes will be so strong it will make your damn head dizzy. That dizziness is the medicine. But you will get a taste for it. The dripping perfectly seared steak. The cocktail presented like gold to a king. The smiles.

Week after week you go watch what happens to your tolerance for the swamp.

A young monk asks his master what the greatest value of his life is. The master picks up a stone from the ground and hands it to him.

“Go to the market and ask how much this is worth.”

The merchants laugh. “Twenty dollars, maybe.”

The master says, “Now take it to the museum.”

They examine it carefully. “Two thousand.”

Then: “Now take it to a serious art collector.”

The collector’s eyes light up. “Two hundred thousand. This is no ordinary stone.”

The master looks at the young monk and says:

“The value of your life is exactly where you place yourself. At the market you are worth twenty dollars. At the museum, two thousand. In the presence of someone who knows, two hundred thousand. You decide where you stand.”

YOU HAVE BEEN SELLING YOURSELF AT THE FUCKING MARKET ALL YOUR LIFE.

That was only the first way to become expensive.

THE OTHER WAYS ARE WHERE IT GETS NUTTY.
