The $VAR TGE has been set for Q4 2026, with a genesis airdrop of 32% of total supply. Weekly points distributions will continue until TGE. We’re sharing initial tokenomics information and the plan for points.
Tokenomics
At TGE, $VAR tokens will be split across the following buckets:
- Genesis Distribution [32%]: Tokens airdropped proportionally to points holdings. 100% of these tokens will be unlocked at TGE.
- Ecosystem Reserve [18%]: Tokens reserved by the Variational Foundation for ecosystem growth, allocated at the Foundation's discretion.
- Team and Investors [50%]: Tokens reserved for investors and for the current and future team members building Variational. Tokens are locked for 12 months after TGE, unlocking over a minimum of three years. Team members are also subject to individual vesting. The specific breakdown of supply between team and investors will be shared prior to TGE.
We intend to use 100% of revenue directed to the treasury to buy and burn the $VAR token.
Points
We planned to finish our points program at the end of Q3 and launch $VAR shortly after. We're moving that timeline back due to major strategic partnerships that redefine Variational’s trajectory. We're limited in what we can share right now, but suffice it to say, it's quite exciting, and we will release more information as soon as possible.
The 32% Genesis Distribution of $VAR tokens will be airdropped to traders in proportion to their Variational points. Weekly points distributions will continue until the $VAR TGE in Q4, with 150k points dropped each week.
An account must have 1 or more Variational points to be eligible to sign the $VAR Terms of Service and receive a portion of the Genesis Distribution. Unclaimed tokens from the Genesis Distribution will be burned.
What’s Next
In the final weeks before TGE, we’ll end the private beta and release Omni into public mainnet, expand our swaps offering, publish a trading API, and share detailed information about $VAR buybacks and token utility. As soon as we’re able, we’ll also release more information about our new partnerships and what they mean for Omni, Pro, and bringing TradFi markets on-chain.
